I've Been Watching You

It happened so suddenly. She had finally taken out the last of the four thugs and then "Wham!", somebody caught her from behind. She dimly remembered struggling but the figure in the shadows was just too large and she was just too dizzy and stunned to mount an effective defense.

Now she awoke in this horrible hot stinkpit. She knew from the pain in her arms that she was suspended from some height. Her feet could not find the floor, but she could feel the heavy manacles crimped tightly around her ankles. It was hot and humid in this place and it smelled like moldy, dirty gym clothes.

She could hear him breathing near her, but when she tried to raise her legs to kick at the sound, her muscles would not obey her.

When he spoke it was a hoarse, ragged whisper, "I've been watching you for sometime, Batgirl. Tonight seemed like the perfect opportunity to have you join me here. Try to relax, (heh, heh) it will all go easier if you don't struggle too much."

Beneath the heavy burlap bag, Barbara felt her own hot breath escape against her will. "I know that voice." she whispered.
